Just installed Ubuntu 7.04 on a spare laptop. Everything worked great, except after two reboots my shutdown and restart buttons disappeared. Here is the fix:

  1. From the top menu bar choose System
  2. Select the Administration menu option
  3. Then choose the Login Window menu option
  4. Enter your password when prompted
  5. Select the Local tab
  6. Check the box next to Show Actions Menu
  7. Make sure Include Host Names below it is checked as well

That's it! The Shutdown and Restart options will magically reappear! Hope this helps...

Review: "Stranger Than Fiction"

Stranger Than Fiction posterLet me just say, "What a great movie!" I was expecting this movie to be somewhere between Talladega Nights and Anchorman - that is, a silly comedy that would leave me in stitches but definitely forgettable. Boy was I caught off guard!

Imagine my surprise when especially hot Maggie Gyllenhaal raised my eyebrows as Will Ferrell's love interest. She is really sexy in this film and frankly, her character seems like it is straight out of Asheville.

If you're a Mac user and you want to get things done, then this application is for you! I've been using it for a couple weeks now and I think I'm in love. Previously I was using the Kinkless GTD add-on for OmniOutliner, but iGTD is, by far, a much better implementation of David Allen's GTD strategies. The guy who develops this application puts out updates like every couple of days, so there is always some new functionality waiting for you when you start it up. Here is a screenshot and some of my favorite
