About

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by!

Here you will find all kinds of things! Basically it just depends on what is going on in my life at the moment and what I feel like writing about. But what you can count on is that whatever is blogged about and/or discussed, it is done so objectively and reasonably. And once in a while I’ll try to make things fun and amusing. :-)

I enjoy talking about technology, politics, current events, music, healthcare, physics, astronomy, and life in general. Your RSS reader may be full of all kinds of news and other blogs, but believe me this would be a nice addition to your daily reading.

I live in Asheville, North Carolina where I am a full-time college student at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. My declared major is Computer Science with a concentration in Information Systems. I also work full-time at the local hospital doing IT support for the pharmacy department. I am 25 years old and have a wonderful life-partner, Joe, who is my source of unending support for all of my endeavors and crazy ideas.

I hope you enjoy your visit. Please subscribe or come back soon! Comments are great too! I try to respond as quickly as possible and would love to hear what you have to say!

Power napping

More great stuff from ririanproject.com. Not much to say about this one, just that I wish I had time to power nap. If only our jobs would allow us to power nap.

In class the other day, there was a fellow student who was either dozing off or actually asleep. Regardless, I was very concerned that he was going to break his neck. While several of us found it amusing, the constant falling and recoil of his head and neck seemed a bit unnatural. Maybe he could have used a power nap...

Apple iPod Touch

Here's a great article about Apple's new iPod touch. What do you think?

iPod Touch May Do More Than Apple Expects

As I have said in other articles, technology is progressing at such a dizzying pace that it's almost impossible to keep up with it all. Is Apple aware of this? Are they dumbing down technology just so we can all soak it in? Surely they could have released the iPhone and the new iPod lineup more feature-rich than it is now.
